“Strangers on a train”, Lovage -- A bitchy lady complained (in German, but it was obvious what was going down) & fought @ length with the DeutscheBahn attendant. Afterwards she stared @ me, apparently shooting invisible lasers from her eyes. I thought “OMG German Ice Queen h8s my guts” but l8r she started conversation & was rly nice, explained we’d have 2 change trains bc there was an engine problem, said I’d loOove Berlin (excitement!) & that I was s0Oo pretty (blush!) among other things.
Dresden: Marché, Neustadt, Erlenstraße. Anne’s: Momo; library w/ Jack Kerouac, Herman Hessse, Milan Kundera, JD Salinger, Michel Foucault (RICHEY WOULD APPROVE ALL OF THESE), Susan Sontag, Franny & Zooey, Chinese literature, Aikido, Psychology, cat books such as "I'm just a cat mattress". Yellow trams; snow ALL! DAY!; lots of quiets; few people on the streets especially in the AM; Guruji poster; Venezia Eis Café: Latte macchiatto mit kokosnuss, Eierschecke, finding 3 Argentinos; duckies in the Elba river; failed GPS Audio Guide City Tour turned semi-solitary snowy musical stroll w/ snarky mom. Kaffe groß. “Montreux jazz” by Francesca M while crossing Augustus-brücke bridge on the way back. Durum Kebab Haus: Falafal w/ Paprika, diet coke. Failed attempt to do Leonardo. Roaming the streets alone @ night w/ my iPod along Rudolf-Leonhard Straße, Bischofsweg & Alaunstraße, feeling like Choose-Your-Own-Adventure. Bars, smoke shops & bistros. Lots of young folks. Having walked for a total of 8 hrs.
St0ne f0x count: Only 3. Possibly bc it’s not as easy to identify them beneath hats, scarves & winter attire.
Observations: #1 rode a bike, #3 looked like a young Gallagher brother.
In my dreams: me being friends w/ AB in New York City; hanging w/ Christian in a park outside the subway in NY/ Paris then him running 2 a music store b4 it closed; a picket fence in the ghetto; me @ EC’s house, her speaking in German w/ her mom so I wouldn’t understand. The Drake sisters & VL were also involved somehow but I don’t remember.
In my head: “This Joke Sport Severed” & the line “I've come a long way, really, even for a tone deaf singer, if you want to know…”, which ends the full version of “William’s Last Words”. Both from Manic Street Preachers’ Journal For Plague Lovers.
