When I hear this song, I think of Donkey Kong Country. Namely the levels that took place in a swamp. When I hear “Velvet Goldmine” by Bowie, the humming reminds me of the levels set in a beehive.
Super Nintendo is the only video game console I ever owned. DKC is one of the games I played the most along with Mario Kart (#1 favorite), DKC2 & Super Mario World. We got it when I was in 2nd grade. I’d play with my brothers & sometimes even beat one of them @ Mario Kart. I couldn’t do that nowadays : P
Over the summer of 1997, my friend Kata & I would play often too. She was a pro. I recall the excitement of using the N64 when @ her place. When she came to mine she’d bring games like The Lion King & we’d play while drinking chocolate milk (Cindor), eating vainillas & listening to Hanson. We also went rollerblading. She was a pro @ this too, while I totally sucked. I've never been rly good @ sporty things.
