Palermo is a (rather large) part of Buenos Aires with many "subdivisions". Palermo Soho/Hollywood refers to a chic/trendy area full of boutiques, cafés, bars, artsy fartsy & cute things. I really like it & enjoy walking along its streets especially along sunny days, it's so colorful & there's a lot to see. A couple of my fav cafés/ restaurants are there, many friends work/have worked in the area, etc. But I read this list of 10 reasons to hate the place & thought it was COMPLETELY HILARIOUS & made some valid points. As someone said, the author is sooo full of h8 : P It must be noted though that most of the items on the list refer to the Soho/Hollywood area, @ least 2 me. I love how the item titles are so concise, simple & to the point, liiike:
3. Lo marketinean como moderno, top y vanguardista, pero está más quemado que la rúcula
It's marketed as modern, avant-garde & top, but it's been done to death/ more passé than...hmm, I dunno, something really passé : P Acid wash pants? Heroin?
5. Está apestado de gente disfrazada de artista
It's crawling with people in artist costumes
7. Los mozos creen que están en el SOHO trabajando de camareros hasta que los descubra un director de cine The waiters think they're in SOHO working tables until they get their big break after being discovered by a film director
9. Está lleno de ropa espantosa
It's full of repulsive clothing
10. Le cambian el nombre a los platos baratos para disimular
They take cheap dishes & change their names as a cover up
I kinda wish everyone was familiar with all these places so they could read this & LOL as much as us who know Buenos Aires, but oh well. The same is probably true of the "hip" neighborhood in every big city.
On another note, I wanna write like this! It's SO FULL OF EPIC WIN.
