I’ve had ice cream every day for the past week. A LOT. My stomach is delicate & can’t take very much. I don’t think I could ever get sick of this though, I lOoOve. When I was little, I hated vanilla but now it's the opposite - plain chocolate seems kinda zzz. Dunno what my fav flavors are. I'm always indecisive as to what to get. Sometimes I like 2 try the house specialities. Otherwise (in no order, PUH-LEAZE!) mint chocolate chip, mascarpone with berries (tastes like cheesecake), mocha crème, lemon pie, strawberry, pistachio, coconut, orange sherbert, dulce de leche with brownie, cookies n cream…. When I was little we lived near an Italian ice cream place & they had this flavour that was soo good: chocolate mixed with raspberry. Right now I also live near several ice cream places…& I’ve been making them rich this week : P There used to be a super awesome one called Menta e canella, they had gr8 flavors, original flavors. Cali & I went to have a cone there after the Placebo concert in 2005. Also went with Luciana once. But now they’ve replaced it with Almacén de Pizzas, which is also yum, but there are those throughout the city whereas MEC was the only one : ( I also remember going with my brother’s girlfriend to a place called Sedutto in NY that had flavors like green tea & pumpkin pie.
Cali’s fav flavor is Mantecol, which is an argentine candybar that tastes basically like peanut (imo, anyways). Ezequiel’s are vanilla & coconut. Coffee is one of Jazzin’s & my eldest brother’s. Louise likes bitter chocolate, so does my mom. My mom likes to eat that high % chocolate. It takes some getting used to. I think 75% is ok, a little square. But I’ve had higher & they taste like dirt. There is a Fiery Furnaces song that mentions chocolate so bitter it could kill typhus, although I thought they were saying typists instead of typhus until I read the lyrics.
Melik once told me you can judge how good an ice cream place is by their strawberry…or was it their dulce de leche? Once we went to La Flor de Almagro, allegedly the best ice cream place in Bs As. It was good indeed.
Also back in 2005 when springtime came, Persicco released a limited-time flavor called Prima Rosa, it had roses in it. Good. Ate it with Consu once. & when I’d gotten one of my wisdom teeth out. Another ice cream week. By the way Persicco’s still got Rinocerose (“La guitaristic house organization”) on their website when you go to “Sabores”…WIN!
Cold as ice cream, just as sweet
- “Sunday girl”, Blondie
Cherry ice cream smile, I suppose it’s very nice
- “Rio”, Duran Duran
“White pepper ice cream”, Cibo Matto
I saw you in an ice-cream parlor, drinking milkshakes cold & long
- “5 years”, David Bowie
I like milkshakes too. When I was little I went to this orthodontist that would give you a coupon to get a free one @ McDonalds across the street afterwards. Ugh they are sooo yummy, I was so disappointed when I moved here & they didn’t have them. Piacere makes good ones but they’re epically expensive now. Still… ice cream > milkshakes. But not the song “My milkshake” by Kelis. I think it’s tacky.
