How & why did I die?

A couple of days ago I was absorbed by a black hole of food poisoning & migraine headaches which resulted in not being able to stand up straight bc my head hurt so much & also vomiting anywhere from my bedside to the sidewalk. NOT FUN, FOLKS : P B4 being sucked in2 the vortex (& during brief spurts of consciousness while within), I pondered the dichotomies asleep/awake - dead/alive & my relation with both.

Film: Death becomes her, one of Dubois’ favorites

'Cause she's too scared & she can't pretend
To understand where it begins or ends
Or what it means to be dead
It's just a sound going through your head
Let them go on

- “The sound of failure”, The Flaming Lips

I paused in cosmic reflection
confused & wondering.
Of how I came to die...
Hmmm I was confused
For if I was dead
how & why did I die?

- “The golden path”, Chemical Bros & Flaming Lips

I heard they told her it was to tell & live or to die
I didn't know her but I know why she lied
I didn't know her but I know why she died

(…) I heard them say that dreams should stay in your head
Well I feel ashamed of the things that I said
Put on these chains & you can live a free life
Well I'd rather bleed just to know why I die

(…) I've started feeling like I don't want to fight
Give in to the given & put out the light
Cannons a blazing shower these moonlit skies
Then I remember & I know why he died
Do you know why I died?

- “This time around”, Hanson
