In the blink of an eye you get several meanings

I've had this line in my head for a couple of months now. I like it. I remember telling it to someone over red wine at a French bar one Friday night. I found out our waiter used to live right near where I used to live in Paris (Quai de la Loire). We spoke a little en Francais. It made me feel cool & all, but I really need to learn wine tasting, I think.

Anyways the line reminds me of "Blink & you miss a beat, keep one of your eyes open @ all times" which opens "Consequence" by Incubus. I also read a quote once that was something like "I love the magic that happens when we blink". But the only thing the three have in common is that they mention blinking.

In Mary Poppins, a fav childhood film, when Bert is explaining how to enter the sidewalk drawing, he says "A bit of magic. It's easy. You think. You wink. You do a double blink. You close your eyes... & jump!"

YKNOW, I COULD ~TOTALLY~ USE SOME MAGIC RIGHT NOW. "God, show me magic!" by Super Furry Animals. But I need 2 go back 2 sleep. It's been 4 hours. The upcoming 4 weeks: we have got to get it together. WE WILL GET IT TOGETHER.

~

if i'm going out
i want to take with me
(a month of golden sundays)
if we're going out
should we bring a map?
or should we lose ourselves in meaning

where we are - in the blink of an eye
you get several meanings

if you come back down
be sure to hear the sound
(of xylophones gently breathing)

where we are - in the blink of an eye
you get several meanings

do you question what's in sight
as the sun is setting
as the airplane hits boundaries
a waterfall fell on an optical atlas
what was remains the same
it took up residence
with a peculiar noise called "train director"
