Personally, I 1st heard the expression in Sofia Coppola's film "The Virgin Suicides", when Trip Fontaine (Josh Hartnett) says it to Lux Lisbon (Kirsten Dunst). Apparently it was 70s slang? I dig it. But I use it for girls, too.
